The implementation of the water framework directive is in progress. In Denmark the coming 6 months is a phase where measures and their effect as well as the economy will be discussed by especially the local Danish administrations. Many of these local administrations have formed forums where ideas are discussed leading to a common note to be send to the environmental centres.
DHI have been asked to act as a secretariat for one of the larger fjord collaborations namely the Roskilde Fjord west of Copenhagen, where 12 local administrations have formed a group. DHI´s role is to facilitate the process, collect ideas, supply with additional ideas and create consensus about a common plan that will lead to acceptable environmental and biological conditions in the fjord as well as in lakes, groundwater bodies and streams in the catchment.
The project will run within a tight time schedule from July to mid October, 2007.
