MIKE 21 and MIKE 3 training course in Shanghai received with great interest
The DHI office in China reports: On 28 February, 2011, DHI MIKE 21 Software Training Course started successfully in DaZhong Hotel in Shanghai. This 5-day course follows in the steps of last year’s successful MIKE 21 course in Shanghai. Again an overwhelming interest has been displayed with around 100 trainees.
The five-day training period started with an introduction to MIKE Zero, the common MIKE by DHI user interface for project oriented water modelling. Then it divides into two groups; one focusing on water environment and the other on sediments and waves. The course participants come from research institutions, design companies and universities in mainland China as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan.
The participants will not only learn about the 2011 version of MIKE by DHI software, but will have a great opportunity to exchange experiences and make new friends.

The Fifth Day of MIKE Software Training (4 March 2011):
The five-day training course in the new release of MIKE software came to a successful ending late this afternoon. Mud and sand modelling experts from DK, Mr. Ole Svenstrup Petersen and Ms. Ida Brøker, enhanced on the introduction and application of wave modelling and Cohesive/Non-cohesive sediment transport. Water environment engineers Ms. Li Wei and Mr. Wang Fei instructed in using ECOLAB and the SA (Spill analysis) modules in the three last days of the course.
All trainees from the Water Environment class and the Wave and Mud/Sand class have learned a lot during the training course. As organisers we are very pleased to have observed the very positive reception of the training course with its focus on how to achieve successful projects, and, not at least, the many experiences being shared between both trainees and DHI engineers.
We hope this kind of communication will continue in coming training courses. More important, no matter how different the fields they study, the trainees communicate very well, and we believe that they all have gained much more than just some software skills. Trainees from China Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan, all fell precious about this training chance which also was expressed by the many photos taken at the entrance to the Da Zhong Hotel for this memorable period in Shanghai. Last but not least, we would like to express our great appreciation to all participants for their support to the staff of DHI China. If you have any problem at using the software or have any ideas and advices for improvements, please tell us at any time.
